Sugary: sweet and tastes of sugar.
Bitter: Try eating a spoonful of instant coffee and you will soon know what bitter is.

Sour: a sharp acidic taste, such as a lemon.

Activities

  1. Warmer activity: Ask students to write down two foods they really like and one food they are not fond of on a piece of scrap paper. Throw the bits of paper into a hat and get the students to pull them out and guess which paper belongs to which person and which two foods they like and which one they don’t.
  2. Explain the vocab and ask for a the first food the students think of when they are told the meaning of each adjective.
  3. Adjectives of degree.
  4. On their own or in groups students are set the challenge of designing a menu and making each course sound as attractive as possible.
  5. Homework: Watch a cooking program on Youtube (Nothing to complicated) and write down the steps. In the next class they have to explain to the group how to cook it.
