Encourage the use of adverb adjective noun structures when making comparisons
Cats are [adverb] [adjective] to dogs because they are [adverb] [adjective] [noun]
Cats are clearly superior to dogs because they are exceedingly noble creatures.
Dogs are vastly superior to cats for the simple reason that they are exceptionally loyal pets.
Starting phrases:
If you were to ask my mother/best friend, they would probably say that
Example: If you were to ask my mother she would probably say that cats are clearly superior to dogs because they are exceedingly noble creatures. However, I would say that dogs are vastly superior to cats for the simple reason that they are exceptionally loyal pets.
It’s not a straight forward comparison because….
Example: It’s not a straight forward comparison because whilst cats are extremely cute and fluffy, dogs are vastly superior for the simple reason that they are exceptionally loyal pets. However, cats require a lot less of your attention.
