MacMillan Hub Will says: I’ve used these books for a number of year in company classes and found them to be great fun, up to date and interesting on the whole. They are written for Spanish learners of English which is fantastic and relavant. They contain a lot of material and real English that is missing from more traditional text books. My only criticism would be like that they tend, like many text books, to be left wing politically and pushing an agenda which often doesn’t align with the typical Spanish class zeitgeist. For example the topic “Veganuary” (Going vegan in January), isn’t going to excite most adult leaners in Spain. It’s anglocentric in the extreme. Imagine trying to teach a Spanish lesson on, “How do you like your steak cooked? ‘” to a bunch of wet behind the ears, beardy, blue haired, lefty vegans from Brighton. It might be a difficult sell, right?
