Imposter – Game Instructions
Objective:
The Imposter must avoid being caught, while the other players try to identify and eliminate the Imposter through questioning and deduction.
Players:
- 4 to 10 players
- 1 Imposter
- The remaining players are Non-Imposters (also called Crewmates or Civilians)
Setup:
- Prepare roles by writing them on slips of paper—one slip should say “Imposter”, and the others should all say the same Secret Word (e.g., “Beach”).
- Shuffle the slips and hand one to each player privately.
- Each player reads their slip without revealing it to anyone else.
Gameplay:
- Set a timer (e.g., 1–2 minutes per round).
- Choose a random player to start. Going in a circle, each player gives a short clue or word related to the Secret Word.
- Example for the word “Beach”: clues might include “Sunscreen,” “Sand,” or “Vacation.”
- The Imposter does not know the Secret Word and must try to fake their clue based on what others say.
- After one round of clues (or more if needed), all players discuss and then vote on who they believe the Imposter is.
- The player with the most votes is revealed.
Winning:
- If the Imposter is correctly voted out, the Non-Imposters win.
- If a Non-Imposter is voted out, the game continues with another round of clues and voting.
- If the Imposter survives to the end or correctly guesses the Secret Word after being revealed, the Imposter wins.
Tips:
- Imposters should give vague but believable clues.
- Non-Imposters should avoid giving clues that are too obvious, or the Imposter might be able to guess the word.
